Sharing files through the iPremise Cloud Drive

One of the great features of the cloud drive is that you can share files by sending hyperlinks to people inside or outside your organization.  Files can be shared using the native client (on Windows or Mac) or through the web interface.

Sharing files using Native Client:

The iPremise Team Client creates an M: drive on your machine.  The M: drive points to the cloud storage for your organization.  You must be browsing the files through the M: drive to share it.

  1. Browse to the file or folder on your M: drive
  2. Right-click and choose Share, Manage...  This will open a browser page similar to the following.

  3. Click on the Edit option to the right of the "This folder is not shared".  You will now have the Edit Share screen open. Edit Share
  4. Enter in the email address of the person with whom you are sharing the file.  You need to choose whether that user will have read only (unable to save changes) or Full Control (able to upload or make changes).  You can also set an expiration date when the share will stop working.  Feel free to password protect the file for protection.  When you click Add, the email is generated to the user.  No other action is required for the user to get a notification.

You can always edit your shares through the web portal.  The web portal ( also lists all active shares for your user account.
