Enabling 'Inplace' Opening of Zip Files
Posted by , Last modified by on 22 January 2014 10:28 AM

By default the Gladinet Cloud Client disables inplace opening of zip files.  What this means is that if you are on a website, and need to upload a zip file, Gladinet will not allow this, with a message saying 'Access Denied'.

The purpose of this is to save bandwidth.  Since, by default Windows Explorer wants to 'open' zip files, it may cause unnecessary network traffic.

This feature can be disabled.  If the user wishes to disable it, follow the steps below...

  1. Open the Cloud Management Console by left clicking on the iPremise Cloud Drive green earth icon in the system tray and selecting Management Console from the pop-up dialog
  2. Choose 'Settings Manager' on the left side
  3. Click on the 'Settings' Tab at the top of the page
  4. Expand 'Advanced' by clicking on the '+' symbol next to it
  5. Under 'Advanced' you will see a setting for 'Enable Inplace Open Zip File'. By default, it is set to 'False'
  6. To change it to true, simply click in the field and select 'true' from the drop-down menu then hit 'Enter'
